Cake Care Guide

Your Dolcetta Collective Cakes have been handcrafted with care — each one is unique. To ensure it stays perfect, please follow these tips.

Transporting Your Cake

  • Lift from the base: Always carry your cake box from underneath with both hands — never by the sides.

  • Keep it level: Place the cake on a flat, stable surface. The floor of an air-conditioned car is ideal.

  • Avoid uneven spots: Seats or laps can cause the cake to tilt or slide.

  • Drive gently: Take corners slowly and avoid sudden stops or bumpy roads.

  • Protect from heat: Keep your cake shaded and cool. Never leave it in a parked car or direct sunlight.

Storing Your Cake

  • Refrigerate your cake as soon as possible after collection or delivery.

Before serving:

  • Buttercream cakes: Remove from the fridge 30–45 minutes before serving. Buttercream softens quickly in warm weather, so avoid leaving it out too long.

  • Ganache cakes: Keep refrigerated. Remove 30–60 minutes before serving. In warm conditions, do not leave out for more than 1 hour.

  • Cakes with Chantilly or fresh cream: Must stay refrigerated at all times. Only remove 10–15 minutes before serving.

  • Always serve at room temperature for the best flavour and texture.

After the Celebration

  • Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the fridge.

  • Best enjoyed within 3–4 days.

  • For longer storage, you can freeze your cake for up to 30 days. Make sure it’s tightly sealed to prevent freezer burn.
